Pain

Turning Pain Into Power

November 10, 20242 min read

Every one of us goes through struggles, trials, hardship, and pain.

I know I’ve had my share, and I’m sure you have, too.

We spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to “manage” that pain, whether through counseling or by just trying to make sense of it all.

It's easy to let pain hold us back, and dim our future.

But if you look at people who live lives of real purpose, lives of tremendous impact, it seems they’ve found the secret sauce.

They've found a way to turn pain into power.

They've figured out how to find purpose in their pain and to use that purpose as fuel to power upgrades for themselves, for others, and the world!

By God’s grace we, too, can transform our pain into a force for good.

I often think of the verse that says, “What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good.”

The answer isn’t to ignore our pain or pretend it doesn’t exist.

Instead, the answer is to allow our pain to transform us, to become a source of strength and purpose.

To use that pain to upgrade our own lives and the lives of those we touch.

None of us can avoid pain. It's just a part of life and, we’re all going to experience it, in varying degrees.

But we all have the choice as to what we do with it.

Maybe you’re living in a painful situation right now, and nothing about it makes sense.

It hurts. It’s frustrating.

But I believe God has a purpose for it, and if you’re open to that purpose, your entire perspective can shift.

Pain can tear us apart or reconnect us to our true purpose.

It can isolate us or empower us.

Or, we can use it to fuel forgiveness, creativity, and hope for the future.

So, if you’re in a painful season, my message for you is this:

God can show you the purpose in that pain.

There’s power there if you’re open to it.

Just ask Him, and focus on receiving what He has for you.

He wants you to see the purpose in the pain, and the purpose is, most often, to use it to help others, to relate to others who are also struggling with their own similar pain!

When you do, everything can change.

Learning this has been a (painful) journey for me, but it’s changed my life and I know it can change yours too!

Here's to finding purpose in our pain and using that purpose to fuel whatever our next big upgrades are!!!
