For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in money and investing.

In my early 20s, while I was making good money, I had no idea how to make it work for me.

That wasn’t something I had ever been taught.

I had two houses (bought with no money down), two car payments, a boat loan, a remodel charged to a credit card, a decent savings account, and a penny stock investment that went to zero.

From the outside, it might have looked like success, but beneath the surface, it was clear I didn’t know what game I was playing, let alone the rules.

In reality, I was chasing status, over-leveraged, grinding just to sustain my lifestyle, and completely unaware of how money and compounding really worked.

I knew something HAD to change!

Then a friend gave me a book, The Making of an American Capitalist, which opened my eyes to an entirely different way of thinking - a new approach.

That wasn’t just the catalyst for changing my financial future; it changed my entire life.

I dove headfirst into the principles of investing, learning everything I could about how wealth is built, preserved, and grown.

I realized I’d been stuck in cycles of consumption, saving, and speculating—approaches that don’t create lasting wealth.

What i needed was an investor's mindset

Over the next few years, I worked to develop this new mindset (The Investor's Approach) around money and to put it to work.

I quit my sales job and went into commercial real estate (right in the throes of the Great Recession).

Shortly after, I purchased a commercial real estate company, (my first major investment) which I still own today.

Within a few years of purchasing that company, I began raising money to invest in commercial and multi-family real estate deals and started a construction and development company.

My transition from living a life of consumption and speculation was now in the past, and my life looked completely different as a result.

Fast forward to today: I'm 42 years old, owning multiple businesses, continuing to raise capital to invest in real estate, and having achieved a level of financial freedom the old me could never have imagined.

But HERE's THE THING...

I don’t have it all figured out.

I’m still learning, growing, and working hard to scale my business and investments by leveraging The Investor's Approach.

The lessons never stop; they just evolve—and a great investor must evolve with them.

And that's what this whole thing is about for me.

It's about sharing the approach that transformed my life in hopes that it will have a similar effect in the lives of others.

It's about documenting my journey as I continue to scale my businesses and my investments, sharing what's working, what's not working, and what I'm learning.

My hope is that whether you're trying to achieve financial freedom or simply live a more abundant life, the lessons I share will help you see that approaching life like an investor is the way to get there.

This isn’t about quick fixes or overnight success.

It’s about adopting an approach that compounds positive results over a lifetime.

Here's a little more about me

01

Faith Life

Everything I do in my life is centered around my faith in Jesus and in response to His great grace towards me.

I am far from perfect but I've learned over the years that sanctification is about progression, not perfection and that progress comes from abiding, not striving.

The ultimate goal of my life is to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Married Life

I've been married to my wife, Kristine, since I was 20 years old and we just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary!

She is an incredible woman who runs our home, schools our children, and makes everything we do so special.

She is responsible for more of the goodness I've experienced in my life than anyone, besides the Good Lord.

Dad Life

Kristine and I have four children in the house.

Two of our children are biological (our oldest - daughters) and two are adopted (our two youngest - boys).

We also raised my youngest sister from the time she was 14 until after she graduated high school and we consider her our fifth.

I love being a father more than anything and am so blessed to have the amazing kids I do!
