Years ago, I took an assessment called the Kolbe A, which measures how you take action when you're free to be yourself, and I scored a 7 (out of 10) on Fact Finder and a 7 (out of 10) on Quick Start.
As I understand it, my Fact Finder score means I am the kind of person who dives deep when I get interested in something. Really deep. Finding out everything I can about the subject until I feel satisfied with my firm grasp.
But, the Quick Start in me means that I'm naturally comfortable with risk and uncertainty, often preferring to jump into new situations, generate innovative ideas, and thrive on change.
This creates a unique situation where I love to learn, dig deep, grow, try new things, explore new territory, and take risks, all at the same time.
Just writing that feels a bit neurotic.
But it's consistent with who I am!
I've struggled to know what to do with this information for the longest time.
At times, I’ve found it difficult to relate to certain people because I'm the weird guy who always has something new to share that has been birthed out of something new I’m learning or trying.
It's not an infrequent occurrence for someone to look at me in a way where it's clear they're thinking something like, "Man, you just need to chill a bit and enjoy the moment."
But that's the thing.
For me, what I enjoy is doing precisely what I've described. Finding something I'm interested in. Binging. Going deep until I have a solid understanding. Implementing what I've learned. Reporting back to anyone who will listen.
This is why I can never stick to just one thing (or shut up) 😊
Every time I try, I feel bored, unmotivated, and stagnant.
I was created to explore, learn, grow, tinker, and share (and not feel bad about it).
And that's what I'm doing here!
This is where I get to report back on the things that spoke to me the loudest, the things that are making the most significant impact in my life, the things I'm learning and trying, and what's working and not working.
I hope that some of what spoke to me will speak to you and help you on your journey of personal, spiritual, and business growth!
Matthew 6:33 says that when we seek first the Kingdom, all the things we need will be provided.
I believe the key to a life of purpose and meaning is to continually be growing in our relationship with the One who created us and to discover what He's invited us into!.
My hope is that something that spoke to me will speak to you too!
I believe that our progress in life stops when we stop growing.
So much is possible for us if we will continue to grow and develop. Better relationships, more fulfilling work, and more financial success are all possible if we will continue leveling up.
Business done well is an amazing catalyst for making the world a better place.
When our businesses solve problems and create value, our clients and customers win and so do we!
I believe that we need more successful business owners who obsess over their customers problems and create massive value for society by solving them!
Money is a tool and an important one.
Many of the things we want to do and that the world needs require it.
It can be used for good or for evil and I want to help others who desire to use it to enrich their lives and the lives of others understand how to acquire and share more of it!
Everything I do in my life is centered around my faith in Jesus and in response to His great grace towards me.
I am far from perfect but I've learned over the years that sanctification is about progression, not perfection and that progress comes from abiding, not striving.
The ultimate goal of my life is to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
I've been married to my wife, Kristine, since I was 20 years old and we just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary!
She is an incredible woman who runs our home, schools our children, and makes everything we do so special.
She is responsible for more of the upgrades I've experienced in my life than anyone, besides the Good Lord.
Kristine and I have four children in the house.
Two of our children are biological (our oldest - daughters) and two are adopted (our two youngest - boys).
We also raised my youngest sister from the time she was 14 until after she graduated high school and we consider her our fifth.
I love being a father more than anything and am so blessed to have the amazing kids I do!
I love to work and I love the impact that can be made through business!
I currently own several companies in the commercial real estate industry.
One of those companies is a real estate operating company with about 50 team members, that oversee almost $1 billion dollars of real estate.
Another is a real estate private equity company that raises capital and acquires and develops commercial and multi-family real estate.
We currently own approximately $75 million of property and are actively looking to expand our portfolio.
